The IIJA provides increased long-term investment as well as significant policy changes for the transportation industry over the next five years. It includes many noteworthy provisions for project sponsors interested in public-private partnerships or P3s, innovative finance and delivery methods, and emerging asset classes.

BATIC’s webinar will highlight available resources on the IIJA’s provisions but will also focus on “new insights” into what transportation practitioners are thinking about the legislation and what’s next for state departments of transportation.

The webinar will feature a panel of current and former public sector professionals, offering both public and private sector perspectives on the impact of the IIJA.

The panel plans to address how the investment and policy changes of IIJA could affect transportation agencies as they manage challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, workforce development, racial and social justice concerns, climate change, safety, rapidly changing technology, and more.

Catherine Reddick, principal at Mercator Advisors, will moderate the webinar’s panel, which includes Michael Bonini, director of the public-private transportation partnerships office at the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; Anthony Buckley, director of innovative partnerships for the Washington State Department of Transportation; Gail Lewis, principal advisor for the strategic consulting service at HDR; and David Spector, a director with KPMG US.
