DDOT’s Marootian to Join Biden-Harris Administration

Jeff Marootian, the director of the District of Columbia’s Department of Transportation, is being tapped by the Biden-Harris administration to serve as special assistant to the President for climate and science agency personnel according to a statement.

Marootian – who currently serves on the U.S. Department of Transportation Agency Review Team for the incoming Biden-Harris administration – became director of the District DOT in 2017.

Originally from New Jersey, Marootian is an alumnus of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and served in several capacities within the Obama-Biden Administration, holding positions at USDOT as the White House liaison, as well as assistant secretary for administration and chief sustainability officer.
