AASHTO Issues RFP for TRAC & RIDES Program Manager

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials is seeking a consultant to serve as the program manager for its Transportation and Civil Engineering & Roadways In Developing Elementary Students​ educational outreach imitative – known as the TRAC & RIDES program.

Destructive testing at the 2019 AASHTO National Bridge Competition

The purpose of the TRAC & RIDES program is to introduce K-12 students to careers in civil engineering and transportation while at the same time providing an opportunity to improving their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math or STEM skills.

AASHTO’s request for proposal maps out the responsibilities of candidates for the TRAC & RIDES program manager position, including:

  • Oversee educational module distribution.
  • Edit and publish the TRAC & RIDES newsletter.
  • Organize and oversee the annual AASHTO National Bridge Competition.
  • Oversee trainers and the TRAC & RIDES training program.
  • Update and maintain the TRAC & RIDES website.

Questions of a technical or contractual nature about the contents of this RFP are due no later than the July 1 to either Jameelah Hayes, AASHTO’s program manager of engineering, at jhayes@aashto.org or to Strat Cavros, AASHTO’s manager of acquisitions, contracts, and business development at scavros@aashto.org.

AASHTO said it expects to award its TRAC & RIDES program manager contract by August 7.
