AASHTO said this new publication, entitled “Guidelines for Risk-Based Inspection and Strength Evaluation of Suspension Bridge Main Cable Systems, 1st Edition,” provides a risk-based methodology to inspect and “load-rate” suspension bridge cable systems – methodologies based on national research and years of proven practical and effective use.
The topics encompassed by the new guide – available as a PDF Download in single-user, five-user, or 10-user bundles – include initial data gathering, field inspection, testing, synthesis of data, estimating cable strength, and risk-based methods for determining inspection intervals, along with illustrative examples of those topics.
To order a copy, visit the online AASHTO Store and search for item code GRISES-1 or click here for a direct link to the publication’s web page.
